Our story

mamisa was born from a family story, a strong connection with nature and a moment in life.

For several years, Isabelle has passionately cultivated a garden in Genthod, near Geneva. Throughout the seasons, she grows citrus fruits, figs, raspberries, blackberries, apples, kiwis, peppers, edible flowers, roses, jasmine, aromatic herbs, lavender, hazelnuts, grapes, vegetables, and many other treasures. This garden, initially a simple pastime, has gradually become a true playground for exploration, inspiration, and creation.

The idea for mamisa took root during a trip, where Isabelle discovered lavender ice cream. Charmed by its delicate and unique flavor, she tried to find it again upon her return, without much success. This sparked the desire to create it herself.

Around the same time, Isabelle felt the need to breathe new life into her professional life. After years in the public sector, she longed for a more tangible, personal project, one closer to her hands, her values, and her everyday life. Her first experiments began with a borrowed ice cream machine, a few ingredients from the garden, and a great deal of curiosity.

Very quickly, she imagined perfumes directly inspired by the nature that surrounds her: flowers, herbs, fruits, vegetables, unexpected combinations and seasonal flavors. Her desire is to create a delicious, handcrafted and joyful product, while making it as natural as possible, without preservatives, without coloring, without artificial flavoring , and with a maximum of ingredients from her garden.

To delve deeper, Isabelle went to Italy to train, where she discovered the art of artisanal gelato. This training confirmed her intuition: for her, Italian gelato is the quintessential ice cream, both generous and refined, and ideal for expressing an infinite number of flavors.

It was also during this time that Isabelle became a grandmother for the first time. Her grandson gave her more than just a new chapter in her life; he also gave her a new name: Mamisa , a contraction of "Mamie" (Grandma) and "Isabelle." This affectionate, familial nickname simply became the name of the project.

The adventure then takes on a new dimension when her daughter Maeva joins mamisa. Together, they build a brand of artisanal gelati inspired by the garden, the seasons and the pleasure of sharing.

Designed to reach people with a cargo bike, mamisa is deployed at private, public or corporate events, and also through collaborations with restaurants or grocery stores.

Behind every mamisa creation, there is a simple idea: to offer artisanal gelato of pure pleasure, indulgent, natural, sometimes surprising and always sincere.
